Meet Nene Toys
Quality & safety
A toy is touched, stacked, shared and discovered all over again. Care for materials, design and safety is part of how we think about play at Nene Toys.

Care in the details
A toy’s intended age and use guide the checks that apply to it. Applicable tests are carried out on samples of the product and its components.
Parts, connections and strength
Physical and mechanical tests assess features such as edges, points, small parts and the strength of connections. Depending on the design, checks may also cover magnets, cords or stability.
Materials and coatings
Chemical tests check limits for specific substances in materials and coatings. Where applicable, these include element migration and restrictions on phthalates, cadmium and other compounds.
A starting age
Checks take account of the intended age and use of the toy. Age labels, warnings and instructions help families choose toys and support play.
Flammability
Flammability tests assess how materials behave under the conditions set out in the standard that applies to the toy.
Applicable tests and requirements
We work with independent testing and conformity documentation. The specific requirements depend on the product, its materials, its intended age and the market where it is sold.
EN 71BS EN 71Physical safety, flammability and chemical elements
Parts 1, 2 and 3 of these standards address physical and mechanical safety, flammability and the migration of certain elements. The relevant checks are applied to each toy.
REACHRestrictions on substances in materials
Alongside toy tests, applicable chemical restrictions are considered for the components. The scope depends on the material and destination market.
ASTM F963CPSIAToy requirements for the United States
For toys intended for the United States, applicable requirements include toy safety and limits on substances such as lead and certain phthalates, together with the relevant documentation and labelling.

CE marking on our toys
On toys intended for the European market, CE marking expresses the manufacturer's declaration that the product meets the applicable legal requirements. This declaration is supported by the toy's safety assessment and conformity documentation.
A conformity marking for the European market. It is not an award or approval by the European Union.
What CE marking means (opens in a new window)Information that stays with the toy
Product identification, batch details and information about the responsible company connect a toy to its documentation. Instructions and warnings explain assembly, use and care where applicable.
